Jakarta –
In Malaysia there is an uproar about sellers who are suspected of imitating the chili sauce that an influencer sells. This plagiarism case attracted the attention of many people and has been taken to legal action.
Not only Indonesians have to eat with chili sauce, but Malaysians also like to complement their food with chili sauce.
In Malaysia there are also many home-made chili sauce sellers. Even though the appearance is similar, the taste of each homemade chili sauce is definitely different. However, recently there was a stir among chili sauce sellers in Malaysia.
It is suspected that a seller was offering homemade chili sauce similar to the chili sauce sold by well-known Malaysian influencer, Khairul Aming.
By uploading the @madaninetwork_ account on the X application, this netizen showed the homemade chili sauce he bought from a seller. The chili sauce in the jar packaging is labeled red with a fire logo and includes the brand name ‘Sambal Nyet Khairi.’

However, there is something odd about this jar of chili sauce. Netizens think that this chili sauce is plagiarized by a Malaysian influencer’s chili sauce brand. Starting from the packaging to the sticker, everything is similar to Khairul Aming’s Fiery Nyet Sambal.
This netizen also uploaded a link related to the shop where he bought the chili sauce which was suspected of copying the Fiery Nyet Sambal. This netizen also showed what he got. Apart from the chili sauce, he also received a thank you card from the seller for supporting his business, reported wordlofbuzz.com (28/12).
The upload received mixed reactions from other netizens. Netizens feel that the marketing of this chili sauce is very similar to Fiery Nyet Sambal. Some people even bought Khairul Amings chili sauce just to compare the two.

Not a few netizens were confused because they thought this chili sauce was Fiery Nyet Sambal.
A netizen commented, “I was one of the victims. At first I thought it was Khairul Aming, but it turned out to be his clone.”
Another netizen also commented, “I almost wanted to buy it. When I was about to put it in my basket and wanted to pay for it, that’s when I realized that the label said ‘khairi’. But that’s a good thing because I didn’t buy it.”
A netizen shared their testimony after purchasing the counterfeit product. According to this netizen, it doesn’t taste good. He also became one of the victims.
Responding to this, influencer @khairulaming as the owner of Sambal Nyet Berapi opened his voice. He revealed that he would take this matter to legal action. Khairul Aming has filed a lawsuit against the owner of Sambal Nyet Khairi.

In a video upload, Khairul Aming said that his party had outlined eight specific demands. If the impersonating seller does not meet the requirements, they intend to follow up on the matter.
Fiery Nyet Sambal has already started selling. Khairul Aming’s chili sauce has also been officially registered as a trademark on MyIPO and received approval on November 2 2021.
Khairul Aming advises small businesses to reconsider their trademarks. If you have the means, it is advisable to register their brand which will help protect the business and ensure others cannot misuse it in the future.
Until now there has been no follow-up regarding this problem. Sambal Penyet Khairi has not responded yet.
