PKS Secretary General Habib Aboe Bakar Admits Knowing About Jokowi and Surya Paloh’s Conversation

Secretary General PKS Habib Aboe Bakar admitted that he already knew the contents of the conversation between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh. Aboe said the meeting discussed mutually creating a comfortable atmosphere.

“I already (know the chat), it’s fine, usually small talk,” said Aboe at the NasDem Tower, Central Jakarta, Thursday (22/2/2024).

“The conversation is about being together, creating a comfortable atmosphere,” he continued.

Aboe emphasized that the meeting took place because Surya Paloh was summoned by Jokowi. According to him, as a citizen, Surya Paloh will certainly fulfill Jokowi’s call.

“Summoned, invited, it wasn’t Mr. Surya who asked. There was no such thing, Mr. Surya asked, yes, he was invited. Yes, as a citizen, you are still called the President, don’t you want to,” he said.

Previously, Jokowi met Surya Paloh on Sunday (18/2) evening at the State Palace. The palace said that Surya Paloh had previously asked to appear before Jokowi. Based on this request, Jokowi then allocated time.

“Previously, Mr. Surya Paloh submitted a request to appear before the President,” said Presidential Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana to reporters, Sunday (18/2).

Based on this request, Jokowi accepted Surya Paloh. The meeting took place at the Merdeka Palace.

“In response to this request, the President allocated time to receive Mr Surya Paloh last evening at the Merdeka Palace,” he continued.
