PKS says he was offered Cawagub KIM before the Anies-Sohibul Iman Declaration

Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) said they received an offer for the position of candidate for deputy governor (cawagub) in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada before expressing support Ann Baswedan. PKS paired Anies as gubernatorial candidate with Deputy gubernatorial candidate Mohamad Sohibul Iman.

PKS spokesman Muhammad Kholid said this and at the same time denied that the offer from the Indonesian Progressive Coalition (KIM) was for a ministerial position in the next government.

“Actually, the offer is related to KIM, which is not related to ministerial matters. As for the deputy governor, it appeared before the AMAN pair was announced,” said Kholid at the PKS DPP Office, Saturday (10/ 8).

However, Kholid said, at that time PKS still chose the first option they had agreed on, which is to carry a pair of AMANs.

“So before AMAN’s offer was announced, the offer had already appeared. But PKS chose to announce AMAN,” he said.

Recently, PKS sent a strong signal that it would stop supporting Anies. The reason is that Anies had not received the support of other parties until the date given, which is 4 August.

Even though PKS needs 4 more seats to nominate candidates for governor. Other political parties that have shown their support, NasDem and PKB, have not yet issued a letter of decision of support.

These two parties also sent out signs that they would join the ranks of Prabowo Subianto’s supporters.

Now, PKS has chosen to focus more on pursuing the second option, which is dialogue with political parties in the Indonesian Progressive Coalition (KIM).

“But when the date of August 4 is over, this is the second option that we will study, discuss and deepen. That is when our leadership communicates with the leaders of other political parties, including Co- Indonesia’s Progressive bond,” said Kholid at PKS DPP Office.

“Now we are studying communication on the second option. We will further study this second option with the leadership of KIM,” said Kholid.

If PKS does not support him, Anies’ hope will only lie with PDIP, the party with the second largest number of seats in Jakarta after PKS.

Even then, PDIP must cooperate with other parties such as PKB or NasDem to be able to nominate a candidate for gubernatorial candidate.
