The governor of NTB who is also a PKS cadre Zulkiflimansyah blatantly supports the chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to serve as vice president Anies Baswedan in 2024. PKS will not mind this, because of personal attitudes.
“Bang Zul’s statement is personal preference and attitude, so it doesn’t matter,” PKS spokesperson Muhammad Kholid told reporters, Tuesday (28/2/2023).
Kholid also assessed the figure of AHY as a young figure who was smart and energetic. He said AHY had become a friend of PKS.
“That’s fine, no problem. Mas AHY is a young leader who is smart, energetic and a leader of one of the influential political parties in this country. We respect him as a friend of PKS,” he said.
PKS handed over the name of the cawapres to Anies Baswedan, of course with the cawapres criteria agreed upon by the coalition team.
“Regarding the vice presidential candidate, PKS’ stance gives this authority to the presidential candidate to choose which one is the best according to the criteria agreed upon by the presidential candidate and the coalition team,” he said.
Previously, the Governor of NTB Zulkieflimansyah proposed the right cawapres to accompany Anies Baswedan in 2024. He proposed the Democratic Party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to be the cawapres.
“We from PKS NTB who are right to accompany Anies is AHY,” said Zul as reported by detikBali, Monday (27/2/2023).
According to Zul, the NTB PKS carriage has even declared support for the former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in NTB. He conveyed that AHY was suitable to accompany Anies to win big votes.
“There are relatively many in NTB and the majority are even supporters of Pak Anies. NasDem, PKS and Democrats have joined forces. Because if the Democrats don’t participate, they won’t be able to (get a lot of votes),” said Zul.
Furthermore, he also ensured that the NTB PKS carriage would not force itself to nominate a vice presidential candidate. However, the NTB PKS wants NasDem to prepare a suitable vice president for Anies so that he can win a full vote in the 2024 presidential election.
