PKS Challenges Sandiaga to Be Outspoken About the Anies-Prabowo Agreement

Jakarta, CNNIndonesia

Central Leadership Council (DPP) PKS waiting attitude Gerindra to open clearly about the news of the agreement between Prabowo Subianto and Anies Baswedan regarding the presidential nomination between the two.

PKS spokesman Nabil Ahmad Fauzi asked Sandiaga Uno to open up to the public about the agreement. Nabil said he was reluctant to speculate about the contents of the agreement.

“Bang Sandi mentioned it. Please just open it to the public. So that the situation is clear,” said Nabil, Tuesday (31/1).

Nabil said that his party is currently focusing on preparing a coalition axis with the Democrats and NasDem by carrying Anies as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

Furthermore, his party did not want to interfere further in this matter. He fully submitted the completion of the news of the agreement to the related parties.

“So in that regard, we no comment on the substance conveyed by Bang Sandi. Please just-clear-among the parties mentioned above,” he said.

Previously, rumors of an agreement between Prabowo and Sandi were conveyed by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party, Sandiaga Uno. In a podcast with Akbar Faizal, Sandi said that the agreement between himself, Prabowo and Anies was made before the 2019 presidential election.

Sandi initially answered Akbar’s question regarding the video circulating that Anies would not run for president if Prabowo took a similar step. According to Sandi, the agreement is very vital because it coincides with Prabowo’s proposed candidacy for the 2019 presidential election.

Sandi even said that the agreement is still valid today as long as there is no agreement to terminate the agreement.

“If the agreement is valid, it will take effect, and if it is not terminated, the agreement will continue,” Sandi said at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Monday (30/1).
