Czesław Michniewicz is not a coach Legia Warsaw from October 25. Since then, the club has not been able to find a replacement and the team is temporarily led by Marek Gołębiewski, but the results force the management board to hire a permanent coach at least until the end of the season.
– Legia? In the current situation, absolutely. I would be very happy and willing to talk. I would like to hear the details. First of all, I would be ready to go to work. If it were an offer until the end of the calendar year, I could reject it, but if I were to work until the end of the season, I would take up this job – he said Ojrzyński in an interview with “Przegląd Sportowy”.
Ojrzyński sees his chance in the role of a “firefighter”. – A coach, who would be in Legia by the end of the season, could promote himself. The situation in the team of the Polish champion is unenviable, but it is not difficult to get out of it. Of course, the pressure is huge, but that’s what the fun is all about, ‘he explains.
Ojrzyński believes that the season is still not lost. – Now in Warsaw the points are the most important, but also style. Legia has good players, but unfortunately some of them have health problems after the last match. Let’s not forget about the Europa League, where you can get out of the group and fight with the best teams. There is a lot to win – says the coach.
In the interview, he talks about the shortcomings of the current team and the simple steps that could improve Legia’s results. – I could add a few things, but I am far from such assessments. I am a trainer myself and I know that it is not an easy job – said Ojrzyński.
Ojrzyński is a renowned “firefighter” in the Polish backyard. He has repeatedly pulled clubs out of a dramatic situation during the season. It may be similar now. However, Dariusz Mioduski would not sign a contract with him for a long time, because the overriding goal of Legia is to hire Marek Papszun, who works in Raków Częstochowa.
