Customers of the largest bank in Poland, PKO BP, received e-mails with false transaction confirmation. They contain malware – warns the bank.
An attachment is added to the emails that mimics the confirmation of the transaction. However, it is in DOC or XLS format, not PDF – inside there is a script that downloads malware capable of intercepting login information for electronic banking.
“The e-mail pretends to be a notification from the transaction website, and the content and title suggests that there is confirmation of the transaction from iPKO in the attachment” – we read in the message.

Do not open such an email
The bank emphasizes that “do not open this e-mail or attachment or forward it”. If in doubt, suggest contacting the hotline.
It should be noted that while the fraud is currently affecting PKO BP, criminals may soon expand their horizons and impersonate other financial institutions. So let’s be vigilant. Regardless of which bank you have an account with.
