Deputy Secretary General PKB Syaiful Huda said his party received an invitation for political cooperation from PDIP to support the vice president Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. Huda said the invitation was conveyed by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto when he left for the PKB headquarters some time ago.
“Look, meeting Mrs. Mega, this is the next phase. The first time, Mas Hasto came to the DPP office, it was an hour before PDIP received the PAN at that time. Mas Hasto came there to invite a discussion, including to say something like, yes, we’ve been together all this time. PKB-PDIP, we are together again, I think so. So Hasto gave a helping hand to invite PKB,” Huda told reporters at the MPR/DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/7/2023). Huda answered about the planned meeting between PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Gus Imin) and PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Huda also emphasized that currently PKB has formed a coalition with Gerindra to guide the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR). However, continued Huda, the coalition with Gerindra did not prevent his party from communicating with parties outside the coalition.
“On the one hand, PKB has formed a coalition with Gerindra, although we also conveyed this to Gerindra. So our coalition with Gerindra does not prevent PKB from being able to communicate with other political parties. So it is still possible for that,” he said.
Huda also said that Hasto’s meeting at the PKB DPP office was followed by a meeting between the PKB and PDIP factions at the DPR RI last Tuesday (4/7). It was then, said Huda, that plans emerged for a meeting between PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin and PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“It was in that faction that a plan appeared for a meeting between Gus Imin and Mrs. Mega. It was only there. So it seems appropriate that the discussion about what was a bit had indeed been discussed at the meeting between the factions, the term Mas Bambang Pacul said something that was conveyed by a friend “Faction friends who will be conveyed by and will be conveyed to Ms. Mega. So indeed there have been two phases to go through, only one more phase, namely meeting Ms. Mega,” said Huda.
The news about the meeting between Megawati and Cak Imin was previously conveyed by Hasto. At that time, Hasto admitted that he had first met Cak Imin and said that there would be a follow-up meeting between Cak Imin and Megawati.
“Yes, of course we communicate intensely with PKB, with Golkar, even with Gerindra. The communication was also carried out by Mbak Puan Maharani,” Hasto told reporters at the Kade Inggom Pier, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, Saturday (10/6).
“If there is a meeting. So last Sunday I met with Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar, met with Mr. Airlangga Hartarto and then we will also arrange a closed meeting first with Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri,” he continued.
