Former Canadiens defenseman PK Subban was at the Montreal Children’s Hospital on Thursday to visit the kids. The new retiree is continuing his commitment to the hospital.
The big-hearted athlete took the time to take pictures and talk with several sick children and their families.

So far, the former Habs has raised $6.3 million of his $10 million goal. He had undertaken to give this money to the hospital in September 2015, while he was still playing with CH. Even after the trade that sent him to Nashville, Subban never stopped coming to visit Children’s Hospital.
After the seven years he had given himself to reach the donation goal, Subban was just over halfway there. He gave himself three more years to raise the remaining money. Even though he didn’t pick up the full account in 7 years as expected, the amount of money he donated to the foundation was already a huge and extremely generous sum.
The 2013 Norris Trophy winner finally hung up his skates this summer, having completed the final year of his 8-year, $72 million contract. He then became an analyst at ESPN during the 2022 playoffs and seems to have taken a liking to it.
PK Subban has taken to it so much that he signed a multi-year contract with ESPN last November. He now acts as an NHL game analyst for the USA Sports Network. This new source of income should help him in his goal towards $10 million in donations to the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
The Journal de Montreal may speak well of Subban now that he proves he continues to make donations and visits to achieve his goal.
