PJF workers protest in San Lázaro

Mexico City. Workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation protested in the Chamber of Deputies to demand that legislators participate in the elaboration of secondary laws to the Reform on the matter and that they respect the suspensions granted by federal judges, one of them orders that they not be analyzed nor is the vote on the opinion carried out until the trial is finally resolved; the second, that if the legislative process continues, the decree will not be sent to the state congresses for approval.

“The objective of coming was to deliver a letter requesting that the Political Coordination Board receive us with the purpose of participating in the preparation and consultation of the secondary laws that will implement the reform of the Judicial Branch. In addition to requesting that legislators abide by the suspensions granted in the different amparo lawsuits that were promoted against the amendment procedure,” said Patricia Aguayo Bernal, self-proclaimed spokesperson for the workers.

He assured that despite the stoppage of activities that has been going on for a month and a half, they have not stopped working. “We are carrying out our work in all buildings nationwide. Justice does not stop and has not stopped for a single moment.”

He noted that there were two briefs that they delivered, one corresponds to the workers of the First Circuit and the second was in the name of the 32 United Circuits Coalition that represents the judicial courts throughout the country.

A month and a half after the stoppage of activities, they once again requested dialogue with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, to make her aware of the workers’ perspective regarding the changes contemplated by the judicial reform.

For its part, the Federal Judiciary Council reported that in follow-up to the Plenary agreement, the counselors held dialogue tables with the representations of the Circuit magistrates, district judges and PJF workers, addressing, among other topics, those related to respect for labor rights and benefits; the situation of trusted employees; the judicial career and the problems faced by public servants in Guerrero due to the passage of Hurricane John.

He said that with this dialogue, the councilors learned first-hand about the concerns and needs of public servants derived from the approval of the reform to the Judicial Branch of the Federation and the various situations that arise administratively and professionally in the daily operation of the jurisdictional bodies; Therefore, they expressed their commitment to analyze them carefully and provide a response through the corresponding collegiate bodies of the CJF.
