PJF union threatens strike at Collective Affairs Labor Court

Mexico City., The Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) reported that yesterday the Committee of the National Union for the Renewal of Workers in the Service of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (SNRSTPJF), headed by its general secretary, Juan Alberto Prado Gómez, stated its “intention to completely close the facilities” of the Labor Court for Collective Affairs, located in Mexico City, “and not allow the resolution of any type of matter.”

The Snrstpjf is one of the two unions that integrate workers from the Judicial Branch of the Federation, and is part of the organizations that have demonstrated against the approval of the judicial reform and in favor of the work stoppage in all jurisdictional bodies.

In this context, the Judiciary reported that Judge Juan Manuel Vega Tapia, Head of the Unit for Implementation of the Reform in the Matter of Labor Justice, and the members of the Labor Court of Collective Affairs, reached an agreement that the jurisdictional body will continue to attend to urgent matters uninterruptedly.

“The union committee has expressed its intention to completely close the premises of this court and not allow any type of matter to be heard; this, from its point of view, is in order to demonstrate the importance of the functions of the collective court.

“After a frank and open dialogue, in which empathy, professionalism and attention to the users of the administration of justice in matters of strikes were privileged, it was possible to build agreements so that the attention to urgent matters of this nature would continue uninterruptedly and, in a coordinated manner, the communication work with society would be reinforced, regarding the protection of the rights of workers and workplaces.”

The CJF stated that it issued this information “for the purpose of informing you that this Collective Affairs Court of the Judicial Branch of the Federation will continue to provide service as demanded by society and as indicated by the Federal Judicial Council in Circular 17/2024,” regarding the bodies that will handle matters considered urgent.
