PJ workers march from Ángel to the Senate against judicial reform

Mexico City. Around 300 workers from the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF) and civil society march from the Angel of Independence to the Senate of the Republic in support of judges who granted suspensions against the Judicial Reform, which was published on September 15 passed in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

“We demand that the Reform of the Judiciary be eliminated, we are also protesting because President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is not abiding by the suspensions, which is illegal and puts the country in a constitutional crisis, this is when one power no longer respects the other, when the constitutional mandate of the constituent is broken. We also come to defend our rights as a working base of the PJF and to ensure that the judicial career is respected,” said Rafael Jiménez, who works as an officer in the Second Collegiate Court on Labor Matters.

He reiterated that the viable way to climb the job ladder is through a judicial career and not through a raffle. “Exams yes, raffle no, because the raffle is a mockery, they want to put people who have no preparation in positions that are extremely important and require all the preparation.”

During their journey along Paseo de la Reforma avenue, the protesters chanted slogans, including “The Judiciary is not going to fall, it is not going to fall”, “Exams yes, tombola no”, Government understands, justice is not for sale ! If the people inform themselves, the reform will not pass! Without judicial power, who will protect you! and “The impartial judge has a judicial career!”, “Judicial career, national pride”, “Down, down with reform, up, up, up with justice”, to name a few.

“President Claudia Sheinbaum is not respecting a suspension. Imagine, any person has a sentence and does not agree, because she is not going to clarify it, because if she as president is not complying with an order of a suspension from a judge, then a citizen He won’t do it either, anyone is going to reveal themselves” he insisted.
