The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a 24-year-old man who stabbed João Freire, a former Varzim Sport Clube training athlete and current player for União Desportiva Lavrense, in the early hours of this Sunday. According to the PJ, the aggressor and victim were part of the same group.

According to the PJ, the facts occurred on Sunday morning, in the vicinity of a nightlife establishment, “following a misunderstanding between the offended party and the detainee”.

“According to the elements collected by the investigation, the accused and the offended were part of a group of six people who got together with the purpose of buying access to the reserved area of ​​the disco, sharing the expense between all, having been at the origin of the aggressions a disagreement as to the amount charged by the offended party”, stresses the Judiciary.

The 24-year-old detainee, sole proprietorship, with no criminal record, will be presented to the competent judicial authority for the first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures deemed appropriate.
