“I am in love with +Europa and I would like the best ones to be chosen to bring to Europe. I would like the best result to be achieved. Honestly, Totò Cuffaro doesn’t seem like a good example to me, even if he won’t run directly. If he isn’t there, there will be his. Those boarded by Renzi are not desirable travel companions.”

Will it therefore blow up the “United States of Europe” list?

“I don’t want to blow anything up, but it is the party bodies that must decide on advantageous alliances for +Europe”. Rioen

“I’ve been saying this since October. I repeated it every month. Of course, a broad agreement would have been easier before the convention on February 24th. Even just in this week that has passed, it would have been easier. It seemed that an overall dialogue was possible, but Renzi’s flight forward, which was not denied, complicated this opportunity.”

But the possibility of also including Action was excluded by the leader Calenda himself who placed a veto: never with Renzi.

“It is not true. I don’t have to defend other people’s dynamics. But I can say that we worked towards the goal. I would add that the European family of Renew Europe had recommended opening a table with Action to be extended to Andrea Marcucci’s Lib Dems and the Pde headed by Sandro Gozi. It would have been the locomotive on which candidates from living Italy could board. This path was not pursued with conviction.”

But you are a minority, so you have little chance?

“The minority has nothing to do with it. In the Statute in the 2021 congress, Magi introduced the rule that participation in the electoral lists must be proposed jointly by the president and secretary and therefore they must agree”.

If he insists, will everything fail?

“If they persist without finding a shared solution, then there are difficulties.”

What is a shared solution?
