ROMA – Federico Pizzarotti it gets in the way of the agreement made between Emma Bonino e Matteo Renzi for the “United States of Europe” purpose list. Pizzarotti, former 5Stelle, former mayor of Parma is the president of +Europa, after a long tug of war at the last congress of Bonino’s party. He now makes it known that he does not agree with the choice of the pact with Renzi. He could therefore distrust the party and its secretary Riccardo Magi by the use of the +Europe symbol in the list.
It is the last poisoned act of an agreement that was not easy and which is left out Carlo Calenda and Action. Calenda says he wanted to distance himself from a project that doesn’t convince him. He will run alone. Pizzarotti, in his role as director of +Europa, wants to reset everything.
He addresses Emma Bonino directly and attacks: “I cannot co-sign the joint list. Let’s stop and reset everything.” She denounces “the three card game” that she sees on the horizon: “Salvatore Cuffaro not candidate, but his son-in-law Marco Zambuto Yes?”. In short, if this were the case, i.e. Cuffaro’s New DC were to nominate Zambuto on the United States of Europe list on behalf of Italia Viva, it would not be a problem for Matteo Renzi, but for Italia Viva”. Yesterday Bonino said that the Renzians’ choices for the election are one thing gathering of center on which the leader of IV is working, another is the United States of Europe list, in which the candidates will be representative of the guaranteeist, federalist and pro-European culture.

Pizzarotti adds: “Emma, how can you agree to compromise +Europa and your personal history in a political and electoral alliance with a gentleman definitively sentenced to 7 years for aiding and abetting mafiosi? Does this seem in line with Renew Europe to you? As I announced to the management, I cannot lend myself to this farce which is harmful to the interests of the party and its voters.”

Emma Bonino’s reply is harsh: “We should explain to Pizzarotti – he underlined, guest of ‘Un Giorno da Pecora’ – that a list of purpose is a list of purpose, if he still hasn’t understood I can advise him to read Treccani”. But the former mayor of Parma is the president of +Europa, they point out. “This doesn’t change much, if he is so convinced and in love with Calenda, go there, we haven’t spoken but for weeks it seems like this to me, if you want Calenda to elect you, go ahead. A political proposal is not a prison.” She is asked: why don’t you call Pizzarotti to clarify? “I’m not Tim, we call him every day.”
From +Europa the reaction also comes from the secretary Magi, who reiterates that he acted formally on the mandate of the management and in compliance with what was decided. Yesterday the Renzians made it known that there will be no Cuffaro, nor Cuffarians on the list. Totò Cuffaro has paid his debt to justice, and he is not from the pro-European side.
