According to the police, the delivery person wanted to ‘walk back and forth quickly’ and the car thief saw an opportunity in that short period of time to get away with the car. Because the delivery man’s phone was still in the car, he was able to follow the thief’s route via a search app.
Almost an hour later, the police found the car in the Horst in Kaatsheuvel. A 33-year-old man who was behind the wheel was arrested there. According to the police, the suspect still pretended to be delivering.
At the police station it became clear that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect, who has no fixed place of residence or residence, is being held for further investigation.
