California studio Pixelopus announced in a Twitter post that it was ending. This is happening after nine years of functioning within the framework PlayStation Studios and a pair of released games viz Entwined and praised Concrete Genie. Sony confirmedthat the studio will close on June 2.
“Dear friends, our adventure in Pixelopus is coming to an end. As we look to a new future, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the millions of enthusiastic players who have supported us and our efforts to create beautiful, imaginative games with heart. We are very grateful for that!” the developers wrote.

The studio was created in 2014 by combining game industry veterans and a group of talented students who collaborated with the then Foster City Studio (today San Mateo Studio) belonging to Sony. The team leads Dominic Robilliardwho previously worked on games like Shenmue 2 or Crazy Taxi 2 at Sez and was the creative director for the unfinished Star Wars 1313. As early as 2014, Pixelopus launched rhythmic Entwinedwe got four years ago Concrete Genie.
Currently, the developers have been working on a new game in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation. It was supposed to be created on Unreal Engine 5 for PS5.
O Concrete Genie we wrote: “If you have a little gamer in your family, it’s hard to give them a better gaming gift this Christmas. Accessible gameplay, lovely story and absolutely irresistible cartoon creatures will easily win the heart of every child, young and old.” The title even received Czech dubbing.
