Pixbo reached the semifinals for the eighth straight season

Ida Sundberg is in her ninth season in Pixbo’s SSL team. Since she arrived, the team has not been knocked out before the semifinals once.

It is a statistic that no other team in the series can match, not even the 2010s giants Kais Mora, who came second last in the super league this year.

Just like last year, it is Endre who is waiting in the semifinals for Ida Sundberg’s Pixbo.

But at the same time there have only been two finals, a win in 2016 and a loss in last year’s last match against Team Thorengruppen.

– Every time we have lost in tight semi-final series, it has of course been incredibly heavy, but at the same time the fact that we are so close year after year makes us continue to believe that it will go all the way, says Ida Sundberg and continues:

– There is no reason to hide under a chair that I would have liked more finals and above all more gold on the CV, but it is something I hope and believe we will be able to do this year.

Also this year, the club is in the semifinals, where Gotland’s Endre stands for the opposition. It will be a replay of last year’s semi-final series where Pixbo was finally able to secure the final place in the fifth and decisive match.

– It was a very tight series and you will probably be able to expect that this year as well. We have met them several times in recent years, so there are really two teams that know each other well, says Ida Sundberg.

Last year, Ida Sundberg got to watch when Team TG celebrated the Swedish Championship gold. This year, she hopes to wear a gold hat when the season is summed up.

This year, Pixbo won the basic series for the first time since 2015–2016, the season that ended with the club taking its first and so far only Swedish Championship gold.

If the team manages to beat Endre and reach the final, it could be last year’s gold medalists, Thorengruppen, who are on the other side, provided they win their semi-final series against Rönnby.

– We have lost many matches and finals against the Thorengruppen in recent years, but this year we have two victories with us from the basic series. Of course, it would be fun to meet them in a final if we get there, because it is a very skilled team, says Ida Sundberg.
