Turin “Juventus” has terminated the contract with head coach Andre Pirlo after one year of cooperation. The football club issued a statement “Good luck, Andrea Pirlo” on Friday.
This season, under Pirlo, Juventus lost the title of Italian Series A champion, which he had won in the previous nine seasons, withdrawing from the fight for the trophy in the eighth final. Pirlo, 42, signed a contract with Juventus last August.
In 2015, after four years of cooperation, midfielder Pirlo left Juventus to continue his career in the United States Premier League (MLS), but in 2017 he put an end to his football career. At the end of July last year, he was hired as the head coach of the Juventus U23 team.
During his football career, Pirlo was crowned world champion with the Italian national team in 2006, but in addition to four A-series titles, he also managed to win one Italian Cup and two Super Cups in Juventus.
There has been speculation that Masimiliano Allegri will return to the helm of Juventus, under whose leadership the Turin team won five Italian Series A championships in 2014-2019. After the end of the season, changes in the composition of coaches have affected several of the most famous football teams in Europe.
Zinedin Zidane has left Real Madrid as head coach after the Spanish grant won no trophies this season. Antonio Konte, on the other hand, has announced his resignation as Inter head coach at Milan after his team won the first Italian champion title in 11 years. He said that in this way he had protested against the team owners’ decision to sell the best players.
