Pirates, STAN, Allies and ODS agreed on a memorandum in Olomouc

A possible coalition of Pirates, STAN with the Allies – Coalition for the Olomouc Region and the ODS will do without the winning movement YES and would have a majority of 32 votes in the 55-member council.

“We have agreed on the basic outline of our joint memorandum in the parameters we wanted. With this memorandum, we are now all diverging to our higher bodies, where this material will be verified,” said Suchánek. He added that if everyone agrees on the proposal, the representatives of the Pirates, STAN, Allies and ODS will meet on Monday afternoon for a joint signature.

“We are glad that we have moved on,” commented ODS leader Dalibor Horák on the draft memorandum. The leader of the Allies-Coalition for the Olomouc Region and the chairman of the KDU-ČSL Marian Jurečka also evaluated the result of Sunday’s meeting positively. “We have a good feeling that we have been able to move forward in this way after a week and I believe that it is on the right track,” he told reporters. Details of the content of the memorandum will be published after approval by the STAN, Pirates, Allies and ODS authorities on Monday and will be signed.

YES won the regional elections in the Olomouc Region, winning 18 seats in the council. The second ended the coalition of Pirates and STAN with 13 seats. The Third Coalition for the Olomouc Region will have 12 representatives. The fourth ODS has seven seats. In fifth place is the SPD with five representatives.

In the previous four years, the victorious ANO movement ruled in the Olomouc Region together with the CSSD and the ODS. However, the Social Democracy did not get into the regional council this year.
