Pirate radio in Bucharest. The owners disrupted the telecommunications services

According to the authorities, on Friday, the Capital Police – Economic Crime Investigation Service Sector 5, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 5 Court, conducted a house search in Bucharest, in a criminal case in which a flagrant crime was found, together with ANCOM representatives.

In this case, investigations are carried out under the aspect of committing the crime of transmission of television or broadcasting program services without a broadcasting license or a license to use radio frequencies in digital terrestrial system, the deed provided and punished by the audiovisual law.

From the evidence administered, the reasonable assumption resulted that in the period 2020-2021, several persons broadcast in the analogue terrestrial broadcasting band, thus disrupting the telecommunication services.

The hearings will take place at the headquarters of the Economic Crime Investigation Service, Sector 5.

The investigations are being continued under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 5 Court.
