An outbreak of food poisoning occurred at PIRATA, an Italian restaurant in Wan Chai.

The Department of Health’s Health Protection Center said six people developed symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and fever after eating at PIRATA in Wan Chai on October 25. The affected people had eaten an Italian cheesecake, and the Center for Health Protection initially suspected that the food was not cooked thoroughly and was stored at an inappropriate temperature.
