Piotr Śledź willingly showed off his wealth and lavish lifestyle – he was even called an “Instagram millionaire”. The Polish businessman showed a luxurious residence near Śrem and “the largest French garden in Poland”. He bragged about flying in a private plane and taking exotic trips that “normal” people could only dream of. He was known as a fan (and owner) of the most expensive cars such as Lamborghini and Bentley. The mysterious millionaire suddenly disappeared from social media – it is in vain to look for evidence of his fabulous wealth. Is this a result of the flood scandal? The residents of Jelenia Gora made serious accusations. To save his Holiday Park & Resort in Cieplice from flooding, Śledź reportedly ordered the digging of flood embankments. The businessman denies the accusations of the locals The prosecutor’s office is investigating the case.
Piotr Śledź’s business empire includes, among others: Everest financial company. His brand – associated with TV commercials – Bocian Finanse is for short-term loans. I called the hotline and introduced myself as a “flood victim”. The offer I was offered is amazing.
“We lost everything.” A loan was offered. Not everyone can handle these proportions
They promise a quick injection of money and formalities without leaving home. Although getting a payday loan from Śledź is a piece of cake, repayment is not so easy.
I have a small farm near Kłodzko. We were flooded and lost everything. She has three small children to support and a sick husband. I need at least 20 miles. PLN – as soon as possible
– this is how I started the conversation with the consultant Bocian Finanse. It turns out that I can borrow a maximum of PLN 3.5 thousand. story
This is the amount that will be completely “emptied” from my wallet with a contract concluded for 44 weeks (about 10 months).
As for PLN 3.5 thousand, the total repayment obligation is PLN 8,000. PLN 419 47 gr
– I heard. As Bocian’s representative said, this is “a general offer for the most frequently chosen services.”

Piotr Śledź and the gigantic penalty. “Payday loans” under the microscope of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection
The Competition and Consumer Protection Office (UOKiK) received complaints from Bocian customers that, along with annexes to the loan agreement, they were given a rental agreement to sign for refrigerators, stoves, TVs and smartphones.
The contract was drawn up on a tablet, I signed a dozen or so signatures. I don’t know what documents I signed because I was not given the tablet
– wrote one person.
The president of the office found a violation of the general interests of consumers and decided on a multi-million fine.
Brand owner Bocian Finanse – Everest Finanse – to pay around PLN 15 million for raising loan costs and not telling customers about it.
In its judgment, the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection dismissed Everest Finanse’s claim and upheld the decision of the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. The judgment is not final.
If you take out a loan, please also take into account the guidelines of the Competition and Consumer Protection Office:
- check whether the loan company or credit intermediary is listed in the relevant register of the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority,
- remember that you must receive complete information before concluding the contract,
- work out how much you will have to pay back and what the loan costs will be – both interest and those arising from various fees and commissions (there will be statutory limits),
- be careful with contracts in which, in addition to a loan, consumer rent is offered, because the tenant can charge much higher costs than in the case of a credit agreement or a consumer loan,
- compare offers from different companies (this is made easier by the APRC indicator, i.e. the actual annual interest rate – it shows the cost of the loan expressed as a percentage of the total loan amount) ,
- you can withdraw from the consumer credit agreement within 14 days.
