The Pole is the European champion in speed skating
On Sunday, in the 500-meter competition, Piotr Michalski won the gold medal. The Pole stopped the hosts, who came in large numbers behind his back. The silver was won by Merijn Scheperkamp. Dai Dai N’tab was third and Kai Verbij was fourth. Marek Kania finished on the high, eighth place.

This is the second gold medal for Polish skating during the event the Old Continent Championship. Earlier, the women’s sprint team won the championship. For Michalski it is also another medal of this event, because on Saturday he won bronze with his teammates.
Thanks to the excellent performances of our skaters, Poland holds the second place in the medal standings of the European Championships in Heerenveen. There is only a world power ahead of our team – the Netherlands. The hosts already have 10 gold rings and two more competitions remain until the end of the championship.
