Pioneers of “For Palestine” Initiative Share Videos of Light Shows with Drones in Solidarity with Gaza

Social media platform pioneers shared video clips of light shows with drones, as part of the activities of the “For Palestine” initiative in solidarity with Gaza in the Katara area in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The scenes shared by bloggers on their Instagram accounts yesterday evening, Saturday, show light shows using drones that created light panels in solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian cause.

Among the paintings painted by the planes within the display was a painting of Al-Aqsa Mosque with two hands holding it, another painting of a dove carrying an olive branch in a sign of peace, a third of the Palestinian flag and the map of Palestine, while the last painting was of a demand to stand with the right of the Palestinians.

As part of the display, which came within the framework of an initiative held for Palestine and in support of the people of Gaza, the planes wrote “Stand with Palestine” in English.

“For Palestine” Initiative

The “For Palestine” initiative was launched by 6 students from Qatar Academy in Doha through a series of activities that included musical performances, solidarity shows, a large donation campaign, and a charity football match.

The initiative, which was held on Friday, witnessed a public turnout of nearly 40,000 participants, led by the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the event was held at the Education City World Cup Stadium.

The event began with a donation campaign exceeding 15 million Qatari riyals ($4.1 million) to support Palestine in cooperation with the Qatar Charity Foundation, launched by educationist and media personality Abdul Rahman Al Harami.

The Palestinian director and content maker, Ezz El-Din Adnan, presented a segment in which he discussed the periods of the occupation of Jerusalem in the past, and compared it to the current occupation of Jerusalem. The event also included a singing segment with a Palestinian spirit by the artists Nasser Al-Kubaisi, Dana Al-Meer, Nasma Imad, and Hala Al-Emadi, with clips from the songs “Zahrat Al-Mada’in” and “Palestinian Arabiya.” And “my homeland.”

Qatari aid to Gaza

On December 11, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent 3 planes to the city of Al-Arish in Egypt carrying 116 tons of humanitarian aid for the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The planes belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces carried food, medical and shelter supplies provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, the Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity.

Over the course of about 70 days of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the number of aircraft sent by Qatar to Gaza reached 42 aircraft, carrying a total of 1,362 tons of aid.

On November 26, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lulwah Al Khater, arrived in the Gaza Strip as part of a Qatari diplomatic delegation, to supervise the process of introducing a Qatari aid package and delivering it to the Palestinian people.

Al Khater’s visit to the Gaza Strip is the first by a senior Arab official since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Strip on October 7th.

About 19,000 martyrs have been martyred in the Israeli aggression since last October 7 in the Gaza Strip, 70% of whom are women and children, and thousands are still missing.
