Christos Minoudis has been running Souzis at Tulpenstraße 48 in Kernen-Rommelshausen for two years, which focuses on lunch deliveries to companies.
With his Mediterranean cuisine he wants to offer a healthy and inexpensive alternative to fast food. “I want to make people happy with my food and introduce them to Greek cuisine,” says the owner, describing his motivation. A balanced diet is the focus.
Lunch for companies in the area
Initially, Minoudis offered twelve different dishes. The large selection overwhelmed the customers, which is why he reduced the menu to seven dishes a day.
Company employees can order their food online for the next day until 3 p.m. the day before. Thanks to the online ordering system and years of experience in his restaurant in Stuttgart, Christos Minoudis can easily estimate the required quantities. If there is still something left over, the owner sells the dishes in his restaurant Meze Meze in Stuttgart Bad Cannstatt. With Souzis, the restaurateur has built a second mainstay.
The meals are freshly prepared on site in Rommelshausen according to traditional recipes. “In this way we ensure quality and taste,” says Christos Minoudis. Pasta casseroles and meat dishes with beef or chicken are particularly popular. The vegetarian and vegan dishes are also very popular.
Souzis offers a delivery service for companies. The drivers use delivery cars to bring the food orders to the companies. They do not need their own canteen; the dishes also come from the Souzis restaurant. The company relies on reusable trays from Recup. “This system works very well, is well received by customers and we avoid tons of waste,” says the owner. The delivery area extends from Winterbach to Stuttgart-Wangen. Souzis currently supplies six different businesses in the area.
In Rommelshausen, guests can also dine on site from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Souzis is now well established in the industrial area of Kernen-Rommelshausen. In addition to employees from neighboring companies, private individuals also come here for lunch.
Every now and then it happens that customers bring their own dishes. According to Minoudis, this is not a problem; they will also fill the bowls they bring with them.
As part of the VAT adjustment in January, he increased prices. The owner was able to pass this price increase on to his customers. For example, a spinach stew with rice costs 7.90 euros, a salad with chicken strips costs 9.90 euros. It is common for corporate customers to pay a subsidy to enable the workforce to have an even cheaper lunch. Occasionally, in addition to the main courses, desserts are also served on site. They are not currently available in the delivery service, but will be added in the future.
Additional Souzis branches are planned
In November 2023, another Souzis branch opened at Esslinger Straße 28 in Stuttgart-Mitte. Minoudis is planning additional branches and is looking for properties for additional Souzis locations in the Stuttgart area.
