This is the story. Pio (Pio D’Antini) is a weakling on whom his late father Salvatore, a rich builder, imposed everything.
Video Pio and Amedeo: ‘Our comedy in line with popular thought’
Lawyer and married to Borromea, father of two children, Ginevra and Manfredi, Pio lives in the castle of the Pasin marquises, his rich in-laws who produce prosecco. Now a group of local entrepreneurs have also nominated him for mayor of the town because, being a weakling, they can easily maneuver him.
However, this gray life of his suddenly comes to life with the hiring of a driver, Amedeo (Amedeo Grieco), a turbulent boy who has been in prison several times.
The latter will be a real irruption into Pio’s life because it will revolutionize all his certainties, will make him discover things he didn’t even imagine and will finally also allow him to take back the life he only partially lived.
The cast of How can a rock (the title refers to a verse from Lucio Battisti’s song ‘I would like… Non I would like… But if you want’) also includes Francesca Valtorta, Nicola Rignanese, Christina Andrea Rosamilia and Claudio Bigagli.
With this film the collaboration between the director and screenwriter Gennaro Nunziante and the comedian duo from Foggia continues.
After working on Belli ciao (2022), the trio returns to the big screen with Come Pu Uno Scoglio, the seventh film directed by Nunziante and the fourth test in front of the camera for Pio and Amedeo.
Belli ciao aside, the duo made their debut in 2014 with Amici come noi, and then participated in the same year in the comedy Ma tu di che forza 6? by Neri Parenti.
“Someone who goes to see our film does so because he wants to see a light comedy. And this is because he has the need, the need, to disconnect from the problems of life. This is our ephemeral task – says Amedeo -. We are, in as forty-year-olds, ‘middle comedians’, artists who have still worked their way up and are so completely different from the web phenomena who I hope will instead follow the traditional path like ours which is to be listened to by real people”.
And again Amedeo returns to the case of Chiara Ferragni which he had already spoken about to Iene: “Beyond the sympathy or antipathy one may have for Chiara Ferragni, I hope that her case is the beginning of the end of this ephemeral world. It is there’s no denying that she is the symbol of a certain cultural degradation. A person who says ‘I apologize and give a million euros’ is a person who underestimates people’s intelligence.”
