On Saturday, Alexis Pinturault secured victory in the overall men’s ski world cup for the first time. The Frenchman celebrated his 34th World Cup success in the giant slalom in Lenzerheide and one race before the end of the race he cannot be overtaken by his last competitor Marco Odermatt (SUI), who only finished eleventh.
Pinturault, who won the giant slalom World Cup at the same time, triumphed as the third Frenchman after Jean-Claude Killy (1967, 1968) and Luc Alphand (1996/97) in the overall standings.
Filip Zubcic (CRO) finished second, ahead of Mathieu Faivre (FRA). The best Austrian was Stefan Brennsteiner in fourth, the Salzburg man dropped from second at half-time. Marco Schwarz was 13th, Manuel Feller 18th and Lukas Feurstein 19th.
