Pinkafeld – bus to Graz is being planned

PINKAFELD Since January of this year there has been an offer to travel comfortably to Graz with the Südburgenlandbus. Pinkafeld now also wants to be included in the timetable.

We responded quickly to inquiries

“We took up this concern on the part of the municipality a long time ago and we have already held initial discussions with the office of the regional councilor Heinrich Dorner,” explains Mayor Kurt Maczek. “It makes a lot of sense both for Pinkafeld with the University of Applied Sciences and for the surrounding communities, such as Oberschützen with the branch of the University of Music and Performing Arts, to have a direct connection to the Südburgenland bus. We have already had several inquiries about this and that is also a major concern for me in the interests of the schoolchildren and students. “NEOS also wanted a direct connection to the route, took the initiative and turned to the Burgenland transport company with the request:” It is incomprehensible why the second largest city in southern Burgenland with around six thousand inhabitants is not part of the route network. A solution is needed ”, demands NEOS councilor Eduard Posch. “In addition to the commuters, there are also many students who study in Graz or attend the University of Applied Sciences in Pinkafeld in another direction. The B2 line ‘Bad Tatzmannsdorf – Oberwart – Graz’ must be sensibly adapted and adapted and Pinkafeld added. “

Conversations brought positive results

In an initial conversation between Mayor Kurt Maczek, Eduard Posch and the managing director of the Burgenland transport company, Wolfgang Werderits, a positive interim result was already achieved. “We are already evaluating and putting together a possible timetable,” says Wolfgang Werderits, Managing Director of Verkehrsbetriebe Burgenland GmbH. “At the moment we are thinking in the direction that Oberschützen will be connected to the Oberwart line and that Pinkafeld will have its own feeder.”

From the office of the responsible regional councilor Heinrich Dorner it says: “We are extremely positive about the municipality’s request for a connection to the route of the Südburgendlandbus to Graz. We will surely find a solution that is good for the city. ”The finished report by the Burgenland transport company on the possible expansion of the southern Burgenland bus is expected at the end of March.
