Pink October: students raised awareness about breast cancer – AGP

Libreville, October 4, 2023 (AGP) – Students at Omar Bongo University (UOB) were made aware, last Monday in Libreville, of breast cancer screening on occasion during a ceremony which marked the occasion Pink October mailing.

Organized by the head of the company Zerah International, Zora Kassa, this meeting was an opportunity for the latter to educate students on the importance of getting tested.

“We therefore took this opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of screening because our company has a health and social component which are at the heart of our activities,” she declared.

This meeting was also marked by the delivery of school kits to student mothers at UOB, as a form of support.

“We were inspired by the decision taken by the president of the Transition, Brigadier General Brice Oligui Nguéma, who decided to free registration fees this school year. This encouraged us to follow suit to support its action, by offering school kits to students living with a disability or their children,” she said.

Remember that female cancer, particularly cervical and breast cancer, causes nearly 400 deaths per year.
