Pink modules are implemented in Quintana Roo to detect breast and cervical cancer

Chetumal.- In the fight against cervical and breast cancer, the State Health Services implemented the pink modules, which expanded the coverage of care to prevent and detect these diseases.

Currently there are 10 active pink modules, which offer free pap smears, clinical breast examinations and HPV tests to women without entitlement.

For cervical cancer prevention, Pap smears are recommended for women 25 to 34 years of age, and HPV tests are recommended for women 35 to 64 years of age.

In relation to the prevention of breast cancer, clinical breast examination should be performed annually in the female population, aged 25 to 39 years, and mammography every two years in women aged 40 to 69 years.

The users receive in these modules a quality attention by personnel sensitized in the program, without waiting time and the result of the test is delivered in one month.

There are three pink modules in Othón P. Blanco, Benito Juárez, Felipe Carrillo Puerto and one in José María Morelos. For the attention the user only schedules his appointment through WhatsApp, and goes the day and the assigned time
