Pink Module will be in Plaza Monarca for another week

The Pink Module of the Ministry of Health will be open until September 30 at the facilities in Plaza Monarca to provide free care to women.

At this mobile unit, women can come and have pap smears and breast exams, as well as receive vouchers for mammograms free of charge.

The pink module has been installed in Macroplaza and Plaza Las Fuentes throughout the year, and from July 31 to August 31 it would be in Monarca, however, the time was extended by one more month.

The clinic also offers the Human Papillomavirus test for those between 35 and 64 years of age; cervical cytology or Pap smear, for women between 25 and 34; annual clinical breast examination, recommended for those between 25 and 39 years of age, and mammography, for those between 40 and 69, at no cost.

Enrique Campos, deputy medical director of Health Jurisdiction 2, said during the inauguration of the unit in said plaza, that in the last campaign, in Plaza Las Fuentes, 8 positive cases were detected, out of 400 tests that were carried out, so the objective is to diagnose a woman with breast or cervical cancer in time.

The prostate antigen test will also be carried out at the site for men over 45 years of age.

Interested persons can come from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with an official identification, not being menstruating, and for the breast cancer test, they must go with their armpits shaved and without deodorant or any chemicals on their body.
