The municipal council Of Formiachaired by the mayor Gianluca Taddeogave the green light to the process for thetitlingfrom the Vindicio pine foreston the way Caposele portall’Lawyer Francesco Ranucci (Formia 8 March 1917 – Rome 28 September 1980), lawyer and entrepreneur, promoter of the growth of the city of Formia at a national level.
“My administration – said Mayor Taddeo – is always in favor of giving fair recognition to personalitieslike thelawyer Ranucciwho have spent their lives for the city, thus enhancing their historical, cultural or social contribution, also through city toponymy. This means keeping alive the memory of people who have left a significant mark on community.”
Among other things, with notarial deed of the Last May 10ththe Ranucci family, confirming the deep bond with the city of Formiadonated the area they owned, located in Via Unità d’Italiabordering the Wall of Nerva and overlying the Caves of Sant’Erasmoprecisely in order to enhance the archaeological sites and historians.
Biography
Francesco Ranucci was born in Formia on March 8th 1917son of Raffaelealso born in Formia. He graduated in Jurisprudence all’La Sapienza University of Rome il June 28, 1941 and embarked on a career as Lawyer. At the end of the 1950s the activity of entrepreneurcreating most of the buildings of theEurfacing the lake.
In the period 1965/1966 assumed the position of advisor from the AS Roma and in the following period 1968/1969 was nominated Presidentbetween the presidency of Evangelists and that of Marchini. He dedicated himself to the development of new centralities in the city of Romacreating the first one in the 1970s business center Italian, the Medici Park. Also in this period, ahead of his time, he understood the connection of turismo con i international brands and led to Roma one of the first contracts of franchising with an international chain like Holiday Inn.
Very attached to his land, in the early 1960s he took over the Villa which was of Princess Jolanda of Savoyrecalling theArchitect Busirivici who had created it in 1939the first example of architecture Mediterranean. In the ’65/’66, together with Municipality of Formiato relaunch the territory, was the promoter and financier of Formia equestrian competitionwhich was linked to a prestigious national recognition which was then called “Blue ribbon”, which brought together the cities of Wing Point, Formia e Sorrento. Formia in those years it was the center ofnational horse racing and saw great champions like Piero e Raimondo D’Inzeo.
In the 1970s he worked for the growth of the city and its communities infrastructureboth at a political and administrative level, committing itself in this sense to the construction of Cassino Formia. Attached to his city, he was the bearer of the needs of Formia at a national level. He continued his entrepreneurial career with various achievements, always taking into account the beauty and already at the time of sustainability. He passed away prematurely at the age of 63 years oldleaving a void not only in the family, but also in the friends who still remember his entrepreneurial intelligence, his altruism and his smile.
