Poolman is a comedy mystery directed by Chris Pine. The film marks the directorial debut of the actor, who also stars as a dreamer and philosopher-wannabe who spends his days tending to the pool in a Los Angeles gated community. Poolman is set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023.

Darren Barrenman is a dreamer and wannabe philosopher. He spends his days tending the pool at the Tahitian Tiki condominium in sunny Los Angeles.[1]

Actor Chris Pine makes his directorial debut with Poolman and co-wrote the screenplay with Ian Gotler.[1] Pine also stars as Darren Barrenman. Danny DeVito and Annette Bening play his neighbors Jack and Diane.[1]

In late June 2022, the shoot took place in Los Angeles’ Chinatown.[1]

The world premiere is scheduled for September 2023 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
