CHP Deputy Chairman and Shadow Cabinet Minister of Industry and Technology Okakın reacted to the removal of the Turkish lira from Steam. “Steam, the gaming industry giant with 4.5 million Turkish users, will remove game sales in Turkish Lira from its platform tomorrow. Unfortunately, our national currency has lost its respect in the gaming community, as in every field. The AKP government does not neglect its mission of being a burden to young people even through these platforms. With the end of sales in Turkish Lira, all games will become more expensive and this will hurt the players’ pockets. We hope Steam reconsiders its decision.”
