The 11th edition of the Pinabete Fair 2023 was inaugurated this Friday in the Japan Park zone 3 of Quetzaltenango.
The fair, which will run until December 22, brings together producers of Christmas trees, pine tree wreaths and garlands and other products from the region’s forests.

The event is organized by the National Association of Pinabete Producers of Guatemala (ANPROPIGUA), in coordination with the Municipality of Quetzaltenango, the National Forest Institute (INAB), the National Council of Protected Areas (CONAP), the Ministry of Economy, the CALMECAC Foundation, the Rainforest Alliance and the Salcajá Cooperative.
The fair aims to promote the legal marketing of pinabete products, an endangered species.
At the fair you can find pine trees of different sizes and prices. Crowns, garlands and other products made with this species are also offered.
In addition to the sale of products, the fair also includes cultural and educational activities. There will be music, dance and theater presentations, as well as workshops on the importance of forest conservation.
The Pinabete fair is an opportunity to celebrate Christmas and contribute to the conservation of the forest.
