Dresden’s schoolyards are to become greener and the schools are to be given more scope for design.
Dresden – Dresdens Schoolyards should become greener and schools should have more freedom in design. The Left, Greens and SPD demand this in a joint motion. The aim is “a new culture of planning and designing”.
–
For this purpose, a pilot project is to be started first, which will enable schools to redesign their schoolyards in a way that is close to nature.
“The application aims to remove bureaucratic hurdles and to organize support in the participation process as well as in brainstorming and implementation,” it says.
“We no longer want bureaucrats to design the schoolyards, but the school communities themselves, supported by experts and financed by the office,” explained Green City Councilor Anja Osiander (56).

And Left City Councilor Anja Apel (62) added: “As a teacher, I would like schoolyards to be used as classrooms and spaces for experience.”
–
Everything should be possible in the two-year pilot project in 2023/24 – from the project of a small area to the complete redesign of the schoolyard.
