Micrathena Sagittata, the spider that looks like Pikachu.
Jonathan Kolby, an explorer who works for National Geographic, found a species that reminds us of one of the most beloved creatures in Pokémon: Pikachu.
The spider is called ‘Micrathena Sagittata‘and on the back of its abdomen you can see that it is yellow in color and ends in two black spines. Other smaller spines are also seen on its sides. The rest of the body of the insect is brown.

According to the researchers, the yellow abdomen of this species is only found in females and thanks to it, they can hunt their prey because they capture their attention with such striking color. On the other hand, the beaks fulfill a defense function against predators, which do not dare to swallow it.
While this spider was discovered in Honduras, the truth is that the arachnid similar to Pikachu can also be found in the American continent.
