“PIK2 Ecopark: A Multicultural Religious Destination in Jakarta”

Area Kapuk Beautiful Beach not only a culinary tourism destination. In a few more years, there will be religious destinations in the PIK (PIK) area, one of which is a grand mosque with a magnificent dome.

This mosque will stand in the PIK2 Ecopark. The ecopark will be built on an area of ​​54 hectares with a 23.5 hectare lake at the center of the area. This ecopark is adjacent to the millennial house that has been built and is close to the PIK2 gate 2 toll gate. The PIK2 Grand Mosque has an area of ​​8 hectares with a capacity of 6,000 worshipers. The mosque is located right by the lake with beautiful lighting and a magnificent dome.

The architecture of this mosque will use the services of DP Architects, a Singapore multinational architectural industrial design firm. Currently, work on the land has started to speed up and some heavy equipment has started operating to build the lakes first. It is estimated that the mosque will start construction as soon as next year or 2025.

Besides mosques, places of worship for other religions will also be built. Total Ecopark PIK2 has eight zones of houses of worship and is supported by nine thematic retail areas which are interconnected through walking areas and water taxi facilities.

Zone 1, named Halal District, has architecture with Moroccan and Xinjiang themes, while Zones 2 to Zone 8 have typical Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, Thai and Italian architecture, all of which were designed by DP Architects Singapore.

Around it there are also various Halal outlets, namely Geylang Serai Market and Haji Lane Food Street like in Singapore. Meanwhile, the Cathedral and Maria Cave as places of Catholic pilgrimage will be built in Zone 2, a 3-hectare Thai Temple and a 4-faced Buddha statue (Si Mian Fo) in Zone 3, as well as temples in India, China, Vietnam, Japan and Korea are in the other five zones for various religious and spiritual activities.

“PIK2 Ecopark is the first multicultural and multi-religious area in Indonesia that is integrated with culinary centers, houses of worship, and shopping centers. With the spirit of Unity in Diversity, PIK2 collaborates with various parties to realize this masterpiece,” said PIK2 Executive Director Steven Kusumo .

With beautiful landscapes, thematic architecture, and various houses of worship, Ecopark PIK2 is a center for religious destinations that unites various religions and beliefs in one area. “Therefore, it is hoped that the wider community can appreciate more the diversity of cultures in Indonesia and other countries in the world,” concluded Steven.

PIK started to build a religious area starting with the Garden of Prayer of the Sacred Heart of Mary in La Riviera.
