A pig killed a 61-year-old butcher in Hong Kong on Friday. This is according to the city’s police authorities CNN.
The incident is said to have taken place when the butcher tried to kill the pig at the Sheng Shui slaughterhouse in the city.
The pig is said to have bristled at the butcher – after which the latter fell and cut himself on a 40 centimeter long meat axe, the police told the news channel.
The pig had already been shot with an electric stun gun.
It was a colleague who found the man. Then with the butcher’s ax in his hand and a wound on his left leg. The butcher was then taken to hospital – where he was later pronounced dead.
The Norwegian Labor Inspectorate in the city has launched an investigation, writes CNN.
– The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority mourns the death and we express our sympathy to the family, says the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority in a statement.
– We will carry out the investigation as soon as possible in order to determine the background to the accident, see if anyone may be responsible and recommend improvements. If an offense has taken place, we will take legal action, says a spokesperson for the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority.
The Sheng Shui slaughterhouse is a huge slaughterhouse on the outskirts of the million-dollar city of Hong Kong. according to Wikipedia the slaughterhouse can house 12,000 pigs and 2,200 cows at the same time.
In 2019, the slaughterhouse was widely discussed as the very deadly disease African swine fever was detected in the slaughterhouse.
