Eleven years ago he left us Pietro Taricone, “Or warrior” as he was nicknamed in the very first and historic edition of Big Brother. To remember it is the actress Kasia Smutniak, his partner and mother of little Sophie, the fruit of their great love.
Kasia is always a very discreet woman and also on this occasion she wanted to keep a low profile. No posts, just a simple one stories su Instagram where he invites followers to donate to the Pietro Taricone Onlus, the non-profit association that he founded in December 2011 together with some friends in memory of the late Pietro.
The first and important project of the non-profit organization was the building a school in the northern region of Mustang, in the village of Ghami in Nepal. A place not by chance, but linked to a special memory: “Almost twenty years ago me I went there with Pietro – he had told in an interview with freeda -. We wanted to hike and got lost. We have lost track of time and we stayed there for a month. (…) On the way back we talked a lot about doing something for those people. (…) It is absolutely one of the dreams I managed to realize ”.
The death of Pietro Taricone it was a hard blow for the actress, who for a long time could not overcome the pain of this great loss. She and her partner were inseparable, linked by a deep love but also from the common desire to do good for those who have nothing, to protect the culture of a people but above all to give the youngest hope for a better future, keeping up with the rest of the world.
Pietro Taricone it was not just the “gymnast” of Big Brotherbut a man with a heart of gold. It is no coincidence that he became famous in a very short time, as well as for flirting in the House with the winner Cristina Plevani especially for his irony and his intelligence. Pietro was not afraid to say what he thought and his sincerity immediately repaid him with the affection of the public.
Kasia Smutniak he had it met on the set of the film Radio West and since then they had never separated, to the point that from their love in 2004 was born little Sophie, who today he is 15 and looks incredibly like his dad. The actress, after a long difficult period, managed to find serenity alongside the producer Domenico Procacci with whom she married and had another son, Leo.
The disappearance of Pietro Taricone that morning of June 29, 2010 it was like a bolt from the blue. Sophie was only 5 years old then, and no one would have expected to hear such news. Peter was practicing parachuting, one of the great passions he shared with his partner Kasia, but a calculation error in the landing maneuver it cost him his life.
In the tenth year of his death, Kasia Smutniak had given a touching interview to Vanity Fair. His words still echo today: “We did everything, we said everything. We fought, we broke up, then we got back together. It was parachuting that made us find again. We have found ourselves, we were happy. We couldn’t have given ourselves more than that. (…) I don’t know how I will live, but at least I have no regrets. I know that at that moment he was happy …Before jumping he blew me a kiss, making a funny face, they all laughed. Then he launched himself. He didn’t realize anything, he died with a smile on his face. I was next to him. (…) If I could choose a way to die, I too would like to die like this: in the happiest moment of life ”.
