Pietro Orlandi: “Emanuela’s jailer in London was the former Nar Baioni, she was kept hidden there until 1993”

It was one of his ‘jailers’, in charge of things like shopping and carrying out other practical tasks for the ‘management’ of the girl hidden in London, the man who contacted him over a year ago, gradually revealing more and more details about his sister’s fate.

And today, guest on ‘Verissimo’, Pietro Orlandi, publicly revealed the name of that “deep throat” who after a heated dialogue on digital platforms, disappeared into thin air: “He is a former NAR, a friend of people like Fioravanti and others involved in the Bologna massacre, his name is Vittorio Baioni”.

Contacted by ANSA, Pietro Orlandi explained that he does not know whether the man is currently alive or where he is: “I don’t know – he says – that’s why I hoped that someone would take care of him, to look for him and understand if he was actually the person who contacted me or was just someone who had used his name, in any case I assume he is alive”.

On Verissimo, Orlandi, while expressing great “confidence” in the work of the bicameral commission of inquiry into the disappearances of Mirella Gregori and Emanuela Orlandi, which is investigating together with two prosecutors, the Roman one and the Vatican one, complained of a substantial inertia, precisely on the London lead, the one in his opinion “most important of all”.

And about the man who allegedly revealed so many crucial details to him, he says: “Since no one is looking for him, I’ll name him.” “It’s really hard,” the woman’s brother began, “after 41 years I just can’t understand why the more you go on, the more you look for things and the more obstacles appear.”

According to the trail that would lead to the English capital and whose pieces of the puzzle would be to be found, according to him, not only in the revelations of the former NAR but also in the contents of the chats between Francesca Immacolata Chaouqui and Monsignor Vallejo Balda and in the so-called “5 sheets” with the alleged list of expenses, Emanuela would have been kidnapped and kept in London under a false identity in a “boarding school” from 1983 until at least 1997.

“This person who contacted me and then disappeared – Orlandi said – was a person ‘let’s say in charge of management, he didn’t know the reasons for the kidnapping, he told me, I was there with others in a nearby apartment, and I did small tasks like doing the shopping, to manage the situation”, “he told me that he left on the same Rome-London flight”. This man, he adds, certainly “was there until ’97, then he left and I don’t know what happened, he gave me the name of another person in his group, Stefano Sderini, another member of the NAR, who would have made anonymous phone calls. At the moment I don’t know where he is, I think he’s a fugitive in South America but he’s a living person”.

Pietro Orlandi also mentioned an alleged relationship between the Vatican and the Italian Ministry of Defense: “There are elements of contact in that situation,” related to “a Rome-London flight requested by the Vatican,” and, he accuses, “no one is dealing with it.” But “we can’t not look into it further, there are too many elements, too many coincidences.”
