Pierric Poupet is a native of Mont-Saint-Aignan and with TJ Parker, they played two years together in France.
“We got along very quickly,” says TJ Parker. “These parents came to pick me up to go to training and a very strong friendship was born afterwards, I went to Paris and he to Epinal, but we always stayed in touch, even when I went to the United States. Pierric is a simple, intelligent person who was always ahead, as shown by the fact that he had skipped a grade at school. I called on him to come to Villeurbanne and I didn’t hire him because he was my friend, but because he is very competent. He played in a position, playmaker, which means he is very composed, very thoughtful. He understands the game perfectly and has a good analysis of human beings. It’s a strength, it’s not given to everyone. He is very calm… unless you annoy him! »
“I’m a rookie coach, who was an assistant. It’s not as if I arrived from nowhere. The players have the image of me as an assistant and I’m not going to change. On the other hand, they will discover other facets of me. The desire is to build habits of work, functioning, and to be myself,” affirms Pierric Poupet.
