“He is making progress. A truly great player,” Rafael van der Vaart begins the Veerman song of praise NOS Studio Football. PSV won 1-7 at PEC Zwolle last Saturday. He did not score himself, but Veerman made a huge impression on the former top midfielder.
Van Hooijdonk is also more than complimentary. “There is a message behind every ball he gives. His ball speed is perfect, you can do whatever you want with it. He never hurts the ball. There is so much feeling in it. Every assumption, every pass he gives … I have thought about it carefully: but he is the best player in the Eredivisie at the moment.”

Ibrahim Afellay wholeheartedly agrees with this. “He is really the driving force together with Schouten (Jerdy, ed.) at PSV. He gives balls that others cannot give, balls that give others just a little more time for the next action.”
