Finance Minister Pierre Gramegna will pay a working visit to Washington and New York from October 15 to 21, 2021. In Washington, the Minister will participate in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
On the sidelines of the annual meetings, Pierre Gramegna will co-chair with the Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, and Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Principal Minister and former Minister of Finance of Singapore, a round table on the provision of financing for the most vulnerable countries following the historic allocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) by the IMF to the tune of 650 billion dollars.
The Minister will have bilateral meetings with his counterparts present on the spot, representatives of the IMF as well as José W. Fernandez, Undersecretary for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment of the United States.
In New York, the Minister of Finance will meet with high-level representatives of US financial firms.
