Pierre Guthrie (Scuderia AlphaTauri) finished the free practice of the first day of the Abu Dhabi F1 2022 GP in 19th place.
Struggling with rear balance, Pierre Gasly ran into traffic during a short run on the soft tires and was unable to improve on his time on the mediums. However, he said he is still far behind the top 10 in terms of pace.
“Today was tough, but we will make the necessary changes to do our best in tomorrow’s qualifying,” said Gasly.
“The top ten here is really impressive in terms of speed and I think we were still quite far off the pace.”
“But anything can happen, so we’ll push to the end.”
