Pierre Edouard Bellemare signs a one-year contract with the Seattle Kraken. The contract is worth $775,000.
The Frenchman, who has a past in Sweden with Leksand and Skellefteå, was an unrestricted free agent and is now ready for his fifth NHL club. He began his career in North America with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2014 and has since also played for the Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Last season he scored 13 points (4+9) in 73 games with the Lightning as well as two points in six playoff games. Bellemare has played a total of 660 regular season games in the NHL.
In the offseason, the Kraken, who went to the club’s first playoff appearance (second round) this spring, also signed defenseman Brian Dumoulin and forward Kailer Yamamoto.
