Legendary comic artist Pierre Christin has died at the age of 86.

A French cartoon legend Pierre Christin has died at the age of 86. The Le Monde news website reported on the matter, among others. Christin reportedly died on Thursday, October 3rd in her hometown of Paris.
Born in Saint-Mandé, Christin created around 100 works during his 50-year career. These include, among other things Jean-Claude Mézièresin a well-known cartoon created with Valerianin which the space-time agent of the same name has adventures. The work in question was popular not only in the Nordic countries, but also in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
Christin also worked as a novelist, journalist, teacher and academic. The cartoonist was awarded for his works both internationally and in his home country.
