Pierpaolo Piccioli at the Met Gala with his daughter. But Benedetta’s dress is not designed by him

Pierpaolo Piccioli and his daughter Benedetta smile enthusiastically for the camera, evidently happy to have participated in theirs first Met Gala together. The now ex-Valentino designer walked the red carpet of the New York event in the company of his eldest daughter, dressed for the occasion by Atelier Versace.

While the father wore his standard outfit for gala events, i.e. a black tuxedo ‘lightened’ by a pair of white sneakers, the daughter showed off a Mauve bustier dresswith a transparent train skirt enriched with feathers that evoke a sort of fantasy foliage, perfectly in keeping with the dress code of the evening The Garden of Time.

Benedetta Piccioli, 27 years old and at the beginning of one career as a model and make-up artist, recently declared in an interview that she loves fairytale dresses, and evidently Donatella Versace’s creation falls into the category. “Thanks for making me feel like a princess”, writes the young woman in support of an Instagram post mentioning the designer.

“Met Ball 2024. Rewakening beauty”, writes Pierpaolo Piccioli referring to the subject of the exhibition inaugurated at the Costume Institute. “It was an honor to spend this special night with my daughter Benedetta. Thank you Donatella for making us feel at home, and for making Benni feel like a princess”.

The designer, whose work future is not yet known, often refers to his family in his social posts. Also on the occasion of his farewell to Valentino, he wanted to thank his wife, Simona Caggia, his partner for over thirty years, and his children Benedetta, Pietro and Stella, recalling how their presence has always been fundamental not only in his life, but also in his career path.
