An experiment in three prime time evenings Wednesday. Tomorrow the show will be back on stage with special guests such as Ezio Greggio, Enzo Iacchetti, Belen Rodriguez and Vittorio Sgarbi, called to answer the children’s questions without filters.
The first question is a must. What kind of satire do you pull with Meloni and the right in government?
«It looks the same as before, it hasn’t changed. Those who satirize are always the same. Targets have barely changed. Perhaps some reactions on some cartoons involving the new secretary of the Democratic Party have caused discussion but beyond that I believe that the satire is fairly uniform and continues its small and discreet struggle which no longer has the value it had in the First Republic, when a cartoon by Forattini, with Spadolini’s belly and pea or Craxi’s boots, could bring down the government. Politics has changed and with it satire in its most universal term».
The critic Aldo Grasso defined his show “a bad children’s program for a host who never grew up”. Do you want to answer?
«The critic determines himself precisely by becoming a critic. The fiercer the better. What’s better than attacking a program, a character, his honorable thirty-year profession full of satisfactions? It is right that he does so, therefore, since he has also done it in the past, I invite him to insist on the second and third episodes as well ».
Many former child prodigies have found themselves longing for their childhood and adolescence. Angelo Branduardi up Libero stated that he started playing the violin at age 5. A good thing but also a bad one because she sacrifices a part of life that will never come back. What do you think?
“First of all, I would remove the word prodigy. Ours is not a race. They are not circus phenomena presented as something absolute but only told as talented children. I didn’t want to make a competition with palettes and teachers which would have been easier, but a game where the children are part of a cast that we have chosen to show on television as professionals in a playful moment».
She revealed that her daughter is among the 100 children of La Tv’s 100 and one. Does Margherita have a model or does she follow someone among the new legends of the youngest?
«My daughter is between 100 and one and the search for who was among the 100 started because I didn’t indicate her. She is a little girl who has given me many ideas. Through her, I tried to construct her questions, her curiosity, a series of situations that were also dialectical as well as visual that could interest her and girls like her. I don’t know her myths except for a fairly large number of singers, especially rappers who are references to a generation x, z or 2.0. Some of which like Sfera use profanity as breakout language. Can the innocence of your 100 children be considered a response to the excess of vulgarity of reality shows which even Piersilvio Berlusconi has complained about?
«I tried to make a program in my comfort zone. I’ve never been vulgar or trashy. Even when they called me trash it was only the customs clearance of some clichés that became entertainment. After all, TV can’t be too different from reality. Mine was not an answer but perhaps a question to which I also had the answer. You can make a slightly different TV with pleasant results from every point of view. I can certainly say that the publisher complimented the product».
From guardian angel and marauder of Sanremo. How did Chiara Ferragni and Fedez look at the Festival?
“They did what they had to do. Creating noise, turmoil, rivers of words like that song that won at the 1997 Festival that I did with Mike and Marini. It was an intelligent television marketing operation carried out by the Amadeus group which spoke to all kinds of audiences at its festivals. The strange thing, if anything, is that the television audience is clamoring for news but when the news arrives they get scared because they don’t recognize it. The explanation is superfluous because they arrived before us to understand the changes in trends, customs and also the exaggerated obsession with political correctness».
As a great innovator as you were, what will be the future of TV?
“Looking at the children, I see theirs and also our future. As elders we will be managed by these children who have very strong sensitivity to the environment and solidarity. I was amazed by the reception they gave to Peter Ace, one of the stars of the show, a guy who has 2.5 million followers. He does good through the web. He hangs out with bums, brings food, hugs bums. They also love footballers but the welcome they gave this guy was superior. This means that there is a civil education that we cannot imagine. I was moved by that boy and even more by the reaction of the other children. This means that there is a generation that is not as degenerate as some want to show us.”
